Staff

Shawn Strange, Director

A graduate of University of Florida’s School of Journalism, Shawn left the pantyhose brigade of meeting planning to sail around the world cooking on scientific research vessels. After a stint working on a scientific research station, with plans to stay “only a year,” she ended up in Chile via Antarctica. Three years later, she now teaches English, translates and still consistently embarrasses herself when accidentally discovering new Chilenismos. She spends her free time exploring and writing about Santiago, all while on the search for the perfect churrasco and shoes that fit.

Rich Kemp

After more than a six-year stint studying and working in Information Technology, Rich found that he hated computers and the people that used them. With this in mind, he decided to drop the lot in favour of sunnier climes in the south-east of Spain. Here, he learnt to teach English and ride a proper mountain bike over real mountains, thus coming to the conclusion that Spain was not all just Benidorm, stag nights and over-priced Sangria. Coming from Bristol, he loves trip-hop, but doesn’t quite get drum ‘n’ bass. He is an avid fan of hardcore punk, ska and good comedy and so hopes that Santiago comes up trumps in its art scene. If not, he always has his tiny collection of Peep Show and Monty Python DVDs. In between planning the next embarrassingly silly activity to teach English with and writing for magazines in Britain, he sometimes sits himself down to scribe for Revolver.

Susanne Dickel

Born in Germany, Susanne loved Spanish from her first lesson in school and enjoys traveling as well, having traveled to Spain several times. A writer as well, it was quite clear to Susanne that she wanted to do “something with media” after finishing school. Needing a new experience, she combined her favorites and started an internship at Revolver Santiago Magazine in Chile. Due to that, Susanne is taking a break in her cultural science studies in Germany. In Chile, she’s eager to get to know the people, culture and countryside as she likes dancing, climbing, hiking and horseback riding.

Former Hosts

Adam Fuller

Adam graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Journalism & Mass Communications and a minor in Spanish. The Arizona native came to Chile after a year of teaching in Japan and three years of event planning at the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. He loves sports, playing the guitar and eating completos. Turn-offs include cover charges and anything related to Brendan Frasier.

Heather Teige

A veteran of the international scene, Heather has lived in over seven different countries and traveled extensively through many more. Shortly after graduating from Amherst College in 2007, she relocated to the Big Apple where she enjoyed a short stint working for a Soho-based Internet start-up. Deciding the corporate world wasn’t for her, she began traveling again and after trips through the US and Mexico, she landed in Chile. Her interests include gardening, film, art, theater, food, beer and wine.

Matt Dillinger

Matt grew up with the clouds and muddy guitars of Seattle, a music lover since Zeppelin on the basement stereo at age 5. After college he spent some time in Asia and Mexico, and currently resides in Santiago, where he spends his days in front of a computer and his nights trying to talk his way into the many great shows the capital city has to offer.
