Festival de Cine de Mujeres – February 8, 2011

With South American and especially Chilean films emerging on the International scene, we got a chance to sit down with Antonella Estevez, co-founder of the 1st annual Festival de Cine de Mujueres in Chile, and Paula Tejeda of Chile Lindo’s cultural interchange program. This festival runs from March 16 through March 20. is dedicated not only giving female film-makers a venue to present their work, but also to feature films and shorts that are thematically feminine, regardless of who made them.

El Trompo Cucarro – July 22, 2010

The Bullet began this year’s bicentennial festivities by welcoming in cueca band, El Trompo Cucarro into our studios for a interview and a sampling of their folkloric songs with vocalist, Felipe Salinas; Alex Sepúlveda on guitar and voice; Gonzalo Ossó on bass; Francisco Trivelli on the accordion and vocalist Andrea Martinez. They play cuecas, the national folkloric dance of Chile, is danced especially during Deciocho, Sept 18th, Chile’s independence Day.

BOCASECA – May 20, 2010

The Bullet team had an early-morning treat when Chilean rock group, BOCASECA, stopped by the studios to play an acoustic set and chat a little bit about their music, while on tour in Santiago. Hailing from Coyhaique in the Aysen region of Patagonia, the term BOCASECA, literally means “dry mouth,” but figuratively refers to someone who has profound thirst needing to be quenched constantly, typically with frosty adult beverages.

Compañía Cronopios de Teatro – May 27, 2010

The Bullet sat down with theater group, Compañía Cronopios de Teatro , to talk about the development of their show “Los Viajes de Violeta,” planned to be preformed for the Chilean bicentennial, (“Fondas” are venues within temporary fairs set up in parks all over the country, often made of tree branches or tents, prepared and decorated for the Fiestas Patrias for a week of traditional Chilean food, games, drinks, dancing and crafts.)
Director, Fernando Olmos, actress and singer, Estella Vergaza and musician, Marcelo Paredes talks about the life and significance of artist Violeta Parra for the group, the show and to Chileans in general.

Federico Wolf – April 29, 2010

This week the Bullet had a little heart to heart with, Federico Wolf, Uruguayan singer and songwriter. He shared how he came to be in Chile from Uruguay, his experience in the Vina del Mar folkloric competition of 2004 where he won 2nd place, also he performed a new song improvised live in-studio.
